About This Tour
Agra is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri — making it one of the most historically rich cities in all of India. This 2-day tour is designed to give you the quintessential Agra experience: witnessing the Taj Mahal at its most magical (sunrise), exploring the magnificent Mughal architecture and discovering the stories of Shah Jahan's eternal love for Mumtaz Mahal.
Itinerary
1
Day 1: Arrival — Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daula & Mehtab Bagh- Arrive in Agra. Transfer to hotel. Check-in & freshen up.
- Afternoon: Agra Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the seat of the Mughal Empire for generations. Explore Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Khas Mahal and Musamman Burj (where Shah Jahan spent his final years gazing at the Taj).
- Visit Itmad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj) — the first Mughal structure built entirely in white marble, a masterpiece of pietra dura inlay work.
- Sunset: Mehtab Bagh (Moonlit Garden) — the garden across the Yamuna river with a perfect symmetrical view of the Taj Mahal at sunset. Excellent photography spot!
- Evening: Explore Agra's famous marble handicraft shops and taste local petha sweet.
- Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Taj Mahal Sunrise, Fatehpur Sikri & Departure- Early morning (5:30 AM): Taj Mahal at Sunrise — the most magical experience in India! Watch the white marble glow pink, then golden as the sun rises. Your guide will narrate the complete love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.
- Explore the entire Taj Mahal complex — the main mausoleum, the mosque, the jawab, the reflecting pool and the perfectly manicured gardens.
- After the Taj: Drive to Fatehpur Sikri (45 km) — Akbar's magnificent abandoned Mughal capital built in 1571.
- Explore Buland Darwaza (largest gateway in India), Jodha Bai Palace, Birbal's House, Panch Mahal and Salim Chishti's Dargah.
- Afternoon: Transfer to Agra station/airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.
